Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

ScreenConnect for Intune is a browser extension that turns the Microsoft Intune admin center's Begin a remote assistance session action into a launcher for your own ConnectWise ScreenConnect instance. It is designed to be privacy-preserving: it collects no personal data, contacts no servers of its own, and has no accounts, analytics, or trackers. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

What the extension accesses

To do its job, the extension's content script runs only on the Microsoft Intune admin center (for example intune.microsoft.com). On those pages it re-enables and restyles the Begin a remote assistance session menu item, and reads the name of the device whose page you are viewing so it can open the matching ScreenConnect session. It reads nothing else on the page — not credentials, form inputs, cookies, or any other page content.

Where the device name goes

The device name is used to build a single URL on the ScreenConnect instance you configured, and that URL is opened in a new browser tab. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party. The extension makes no network requests of its own — it only opens ScreenConnect tabs — so the only server that ever sees the device name is your own ScreenConnect instance, exactly as it would if you had typed the name into its search box yourself.

Information the extension stores

The extension stores exactly two settings: your ScreenConnect base URL and your launch mode (search for the device name, or automatically join the session). These are saved with the browser's storage.sync API so they follow your own browser profile. They are created only by your own actions, they stay in your profile, and the developer has no access to them. There is no user account and no server-side storage of any kind.

Information the extension does not collect

ScreenConnect for Intune does not collect, log, or transmit any personal or sensitive information to the developer or to any server. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no trackers, and no advertising. It does not read your browsing history, and it does not run on any site other than the Intune admin center.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone. We do not have it.

Permissions we request

Third parties

The extension opens tabs on your ScreenConnect instance, which is operated by you or by ConnectWise on your behalf and governed by its own terms and privacy practices. It also runs on the Microsoft Intune admin center, which is governed by Microsoft's privacy practices. This extension is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by ConnectWise or Microsoft.

Children

ScreenConnect for Intune is a general-purpose IT-administration utility, is not directed to children, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
